A poem - wake up

Her voice

So loud

It stays in my head

I heard her

Every time

She felt pain

It rests in my mind

I cannot get rid of it

Yet

She did not need

Any device

For her scream to reach

The range of a mile away

I borrowed

A pillow

To cover my ears 

As they hurt

Now she’s gone

Gone forever

But

The nightmare remains
